Mailbox ~ Day 30

Welcome to all of you arriving here from Adeline’s blog. If you came from somewhere else…no worries! Just keep hopping from link to link until you end up where you began.

Today’s shape is this adorable mailbox.

This one is found on page 51 of the Artiste handbook. I cut mine from the Avonlea paper and chocolate cardstock. The butterfly is cut from Juniper and the exclusive Avonlea Teal cardstock that is only available in the Avonlea paper pack, and attached with an Adhesive spring. I added some Sparkles to the butterfly and lightly brushed on some Create a Shade Pearl Paint, I love the shimmer that this paint adds! The bow is made from Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon colored with the new Slate ink. You’ll always have just the right color ribbon with this awesome product. I attached my flag with a slate brad instead of gluing it on so that it can actually go up and down.

This is another project that looks like you spent tons of time creating, but it really only takes a few minutes…….Shhhh! I won’t tell anyone how easy it is if you don’t……

Now go see what Amy has done at Paisley’s Playhouse.

Happy Crafting!

New colors, markers and ink pads

Some of the new things you will find in the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book are:

    • 6 new colors ~ Champagne, Cashmere, Saddle, Whisper, Slate and Ruby. These are soft warm shades of tan/brown, grey and a very pretty red.

To make room for the new colors, and to streamline our exclusive color pallete, 24 colors are retiring.

*see the list/links below to order before Aug. 1st.

    • Alcohol markers! Dual tipped markers in all 40 exclusive colors. They come in sets of 2 for $5.95 with a complimentary lighter or darker shade. These markers are so easy to use and make coloring without brush stroke marks a breeze. There is also a blending pen available to take your artwork up another notch.
    • All NEW pigment based ink pad sets! I really love these! Pigment ink pads have the special quality of being slow drying which makes them ideal for use when embossing!                                                                                        Pigment inks tend to be thicker bodied than dye based inks and dry opaque with a vivid vibrancy and intensity of colour.                                                  The new, smaller pigment ink pads come in 4 color groupings (Basics, Enchantment, Adventure and Whimsy) of 10 colors each for $19.95. Another awesome value!

*Retiring colors of cardstock, ink pads, reinker and markers: Grey wool, Grey Flannel, Vanilla cream, parchmet, brown bag, baby pink, taffy sunkiss yellow, key lime, heavenly blue, lilac mist, amethyst, holiday red, sunflower, sunny yellow, dutch blue, moonstruck, vineyard berry, tulip, garden green, spring iris, petal, garnet and pansy purple.

(note ALL of our current markers are retirning.)
