October Scrapbooking Workshop

DSC07269

Don’t you just LOVE this fall layout designed by fellow CTMH consultant Madeline Morcelo? She generously provided step by step instructions, so I decided to make my own. It went together so easily and turned out beautifully, so I’m offering a workshop on Friday October 19th at 6:30 for anyone who lives locally. A $5 materials fee will cover the cost of everything needed to make this page. As a bonus, I’ll provide FREE printed instructions for a companion page and a complete list of materials needed so that you can complete the 2nd page on your own. Space is limited for this workshop, so RSVP right away to reserve your spot!

Triple Time Stamping

I have seen so many examples of this technique lately that I just had to give it a try for myself. It’s a quick and easy way to get a beautiful result. I will definitely will be making more of these!

Mojo Monday #260

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve participated in any challenges and I’ve really missed it. I didn’t feel like folding laundry this afternoon, so I got crafty instead!

DSC07267Mojo260Sketch

I cut the flowers and decorative square with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close To My Heart. I used Chocolate cardstock and the Avonlea paper pack as well as our fabulous new burlap ribbon. A few Sparkles and a Bling Gem finish off this quick and easy card. The sentiment is from last year’s convention stamp set, Dreams. Ink colors are Chocolate and Juniper.

See you tomorrow with another creation from this afternoon. Now I need to go fold that laundry……

Mailbox ~ Day 30

Welcome to all of you arriving here from Adeline’s blog. If you came from somewhere else…no worries! Just keep hopping from link to link until you end up where you began.

Today’s shape is this adorable mailbox.

This one is found on page 51 of the Artiste handbook. I cut mine from the Avonlea paper and chocolate cardstock. The butterfly is cut from Juniper and the exclusive Avonlea Teal cardstock that is only available in the Avonlea paper pack, and attached with an Adhesive spring. I added some Sparkles to the butterfly and lightly brushed on some Create a Shade Pearl Paint, I love the shimmer that this paint adds! The bow is made from Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon colored with the new Slate ink. You’ll always have just the right color ribbon with this awesome product. I attached my flag with a slate brad instead of gluing it on so that it can actually go up and down.

This is another project that looks like you spent tons of time creating, but it really only takes a few minutes…….Shhhh! I won’t tell anyone how easy it is if you don’t……

Now go see what Amy has done at Paisley’s Playhouse.

Happy Crafting!

A happy little mistake…

Welcome to day 24! You have probably just been to Adeline’s blog, which means that you are on the right track! Keep on hopping from link to link until you come full circle.

Remember the other day when I warned you to use the Zero key to cut the tall box and not the O key??? Well, these little drawers are the result of me making that mistake….

DSC07169DSC07171

Now I’m glad that I did! Since I had one already cut, I decided to add a couple more to make this little chest of drawers. Once again, I used the Clementine paper pack as well as Chocolate, Crème Brule and Twilight cardstock. The drawer is found on page 49 of the handbook. (I also learned that you should have your glasses on so you can tell the difference between a 40 and a 49). I adhered the 3 drawers together in a stack and added a bow from page 55. The drawer handles are Antiqued Copper Designer Brads. I left a bit of the “legs” of the brads straight so that they wouldn’t be tight against the drawer front to make it easier to open them.

I filled the drawers with…..Chocolate of course! I think this will make a welcome first day of school gift for the secretary of my grandsons’ school.

I’m sure I’ll be making these again….on purpose this time! Winking smile

Next stop on the hop is Paisley’s Playhouse. See you tomorrow.

Happy Crafting!

Artiste in August ~ Day 21

3 whole weeks of awesome Artiste inspiration….and we are not done yet! You’ve probably come here from Adeline’s blog, which means you are right on track. Keep on hopping from link to link until you get back to where you started.

Today’s shape is the tall box on page 40 of the Artiste handbook. Make sure you use the  0 – ZERO and not the o – OH key….don’t ask how I know to warn you about that Winking smile.

The box is made with the new Clementine paper and Crème Brule cardstock. The ends of the box are trimmed with the zip strip from the paper…..I love those zip strips! I added some flowers and leaves from the Just Blooms Floret Paper Flowers and the new brown and tan Sparkles Assortment. 3-D foam tape adds a little dimension.

Now keep on hopping over to Paisley’s Playhouse to see what Amy has for you today.

Happy Crafting!

Christmas Ornaments…..revisited.

It’s Day 17! Wow August is flying past! Here in southern California we have been HOT and unusually humid. We are supposed to get a break from the heat this weekend which would be welcomed, but I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, so I hope it doesn’t cool off too much.

If you are following along on the Artiste in August blog hop, you have probably arrived from Adeline’s blog. Just keep following the links and you will end up where you started.

We start our weekends early here on the hop, so the artist’s choice weekend begins today. I decided to revisit the Christmas ornaments that I shared this last weekend. As I posted my photos last week I thought to myself that I could easily make the ornaments dimensional…..and so I did.

DSC07113

I made them 3 sided, but they would look great with 4 or even 5 sections. A sparkly gem hanging from the bottom would be pretty, but I didn’t have any, so I used some poinsettias from the retired mistletoe level 2 assortment. You could use any color combination to accent your Christmas tree. I think that purple and gold would be really pretty Hmmmm……

Now it’s time to hop over to Paisley’s Playhouse to check out Amy’s project.
